Hmm.. a recent poem by me. And yes I think that in poems one can say things that are not easy to say aloud. One can even say things that are fictional, not true in any other realm but the realm of poetry. When I wrote this poem I also got a very strong feeling that poems are NOT meant to be read aloud. Either one reads them silently or sings them. Poems should not be read out loud because the things they speak about are merely whispers & reflections.. like photography but created with words..

I'm sorry it's in finnish. I still wanted to write the explanation in english.

Ja sitten kun viimein
päätyy samaan pöytään
huomaa
ettei sanoja ole.
Ei mitään sellaista, mitä
itsestään haluaisi tai osaisi kertoa.
Joten istuu hiljaa
ja toivoo, ettei tämä nyt ole
se hetki jota odotti
ja haluaa vain laittaa
takin päälle
ja kävellä kotiin
yksin puiston läpi,

katsoa kaupungin
heijastusta vedessä.

Then again some poetry just needs to be read aloud...think about Shakespeare, or e.e.cummings? Or some old old words? Oh, in fact I think I really love poetry read aloud, though it has to be GOOD of course. ;)
